First step, Basic installation:
1. First to find the Synology NAS installation on the local network access the following link: https://find.synology.com, Then, click connect (1):

Click on the box corresponding to I have read and agreed to the terms of EULA (2) and next (3).

Click continue (4) and then, click con install button (5).


Let the program automatically download the last version from the Synology assistant website (6) and click next (7).

Click on the box corresponding to “I understand that all data on these drives will be deleted”(Please take the time to read the It Solution Wizard announcement. Synology drive client will erase and format all the contents of the drive) (8), click continue and follow de next steps (9):

Finally, click on Start (11) to begin the installation.

Let´s start with Synology configuration:
Entry the data in the cloud backup services to complete all the fields as it’s showing below Device name (12), administrator account (13), password (14), confirm password (15), and select the check box (16), then click next (17). Select automatically install important managed It services DSM and package updates only, as it’s recommended (18), and click next (19):


Click “sign in” (20) on the Synology assistant configuration:

To create an Synology account, enter the username (21), click next (22), Then enter the password (23), and click on sing in (24):


Here enter the quick connect name for the IT solutions device (25), and submit (26), Then you’ll see your quick connect information and you will be able to save it (28), and press ok (29), Finally click submit again (30).



Let´s start to configure the storage pool and volume:
Once the Synology nas start, you need to Configure the It Services in Miami Storage Pool and Volume, to start, click “create now” to proceed (31), and then, Click Next (32):


Here you select from de RAID type drop-down menu, RAID1 (33), then click next (34):

Click on the first check box to select all drives (35), and click next (36):







To ensure the stability of the It solutions system, it’s recommended that the user use drives of the Synology assistant compatibility list, if your devices are already on the list, select continue to proceed (37).
If you use new drivers, aren’t needed to check them and you can skip this step (38), click next (39).
Click on max to select all the capacity of the device (40), then click next (41), Select Btrfs, as it’s recommended (42), click next (43), And finally, apply the configuration (44).

How to configure and active email notifications?
First, open the control panel application and select Notifications (1):

The first step, in the Synology nas panel, enters the recipient’s email address (2), the second is the subject name (3), third is the sender configuration, in this case, I’ll use a sender from outlook (4), enter the username (5) and its password (6) and finally click apply (7),

Once that step it’s done, you go to the Synology assistant rules panel (8) and select the email check box (9) and finally apply the changes (10).

Let´s change the default DSM ports:
First, go to the login windows on the control panel (1), later Change DSM port (HTTP) (3) and DSM port (HTTPS) (3), and finally, click on save to save it (4).

And the security settings of the Synology:
First, go to the Security windows in the cloud backup Synology Control Panel (1), then select the check box do not allow DSM to be embedded with iFrame only the Allowed websites (2), finally click apply (3):

Firewall settings:
First, you need to go to the Security windows in the Synology nas Control Panel (1), then go to the firewall section (2), and later, select the check box corresponding to enabling the firewall (3), once this step is done, go to edit rules (4).

Click on create (5), click on select from list of built-in applications (6), then select (7), then select the check box as shown below (8) and click ok (9), (10), (11), (12):
To enable 2- factor authentication for all users:
First, go to the Synology account section in the Security window (1), and later select the check box Enforce 2-factor authentication (2), and select all users (3), then click on apply (4) and verify changes in the It services in Miami synology assistant:

Here click on set up now (5) and then, click start (6):


Here you could scan the QR code with your phone or tablet to download the controller app (7), click next (8).
The next step it adds the device to the Synology nas app, and you can do it by scanning the QR code (9), then entering the verification code from the app (10), and click next (11):

Then you set up a backup email (12), and click next (13), And finally, click done to finish the two-factor authentication configuration (14):


Do you want more security?
For more Cloud backup services security, you will need to change the password configuration in Synology support, you can do it by going to the User & Group window in the Control Panel (1), and you can set up your password settings as shown below (2), then click apply (3), Here you force all users at the next login to change their passwords or you can skip it (4).


Restart automatically when the power supply issue is fixed
You can set up this function easily by going to the Hardware & Power windows in the Synology assistant control Panel (1), there select the mentioned function as it’s shown below (2), then click apply (3).
