Do you want to know how to create a shared folder for storing the backup for Microsoft 365?
First, you need to access shared folder windows (2) in the admin panel (1):




Once you reach this step, you may go to the drop-down menu Create (3) and select the option Create Shared Folder (4)
Then complete the fields as shown below by entering the Name (5) and selecting all the checkboxes for more security (6), and clicking next (7),
Here select the first checkbox (8) and click next (9), and then, Click Next (10) and finally, click apply (11):



Now, let´s install and configure the active backup for Microsoft 365:
The first you need to do is download the Synology active backup app for Microsoft 365 from the Package Center app (1), when you open the app for the first time you need to do is select the checkbox “I have read and agreed to the Package Center Terms of Service” then click ok, and then, Click on install and proceed to get the It services (4):



Later, click open (5), Once the application start you will need to activate, to do it click on activate (6), select checkbox (7) and click next (8), finally, click “ok”(9).




Let´s do a backup tasks!


Once this step is done you will see the following window, to create a new Synology active backup task and all you must do is click next (10).
Here, you select Microsoft 365 (11), and create a new cloud backup certificate password and then confirm that password (12), and click next (13),
In this step, you will need to enter the credentials of the global administrator of your Microsoft 365, and click next (14), then password and sing in (15):


To grant permissions to the Synology active backup app, you will need to click accept (16), and click agree (17):


Then you will be able to download the It services of Miami certificate by clicking on “Download and Continue”(18):

Now complete the fields Task Name (19), select from the list the folder that you will use to store the synology active backup (20), and edit the information by clicking the edit button (21).
Then configure the Synology app User window (22), the Group window (23), the Site window (24), and the Team windows (25) as shown below, and click ok (26), and next (27):





Click Next (28), Here you configure the Cloud backup services and retention policies, set the schedule cloud It managed services (29), example of schedule backup (30, 31) once those steps are done click ok (32). Set the retention policy of historical versions to 60th days (33), then click ok (34).



And finally, click Done to finish de configuration of the task (35), also you can choose if you want to run the task in It solutions now or don’t (36).
